For LatAm political watchers among you, Peru's Congress has just denied the "vote of confidence" to President Martín Vizcarra's new choice as Prime Minister in the recent ministerial re-shuffle. This vote is required by Peru law to establish a new cabinet, therefore by 54 votes to 37 (and 34 abstentions) the new PM Pedro Cateriano is forced to resign immediately. This therefore implies the whole cabinet now has to resign and the ministers chosen again by Vizcarra. All this comes in the midst of an ongoing corruption investigation that has rooted out many corrupt politicians under the Vizcarra administration which is just a coincidence and absolutely nothing to do with this, in fact I don't even know why I mentioned it.
